Create your own AMAZING spoken-word video in a FREE 3-session bootcamp!

Young people ages 11- 19 from Priory Court Housing Estate Community in Waltham Forest are invited to take part in this exciting and FREE opportunity to craft and film their own spoken-word performance. No experience necessary, just a desire to learn and create.

Participants will work closely with MC and Hip Hop artist  ShayD, award-winning musician and composer Rex Horan and Emmy nominated TV Producer Kate Hampel in a 3 session 'bootcamp' as well as one-on-one mentoring. This is a unique opportunity to develop confidence, learn self-expression, word play, music and media skills.

PAID TRAINING OPPORTUNITY 

The Digital Story Company are recruiting a trainee media researcher to assist with publicity the organisation of a series of spoken-word and film workshops at Priory Court Housing Estate in the London Borough of Waltham Forest.  The successful applicant will receive training, 3 - 4  days paid employment and ongoing mentoring with The Digital Story Company. GCSE qualifications and some computer literacy required. An interest in music and filmmaking would be ideal.  Download a job description here. The Tower Storeys: It's My Home Project was nominated for a TPAS Excellence in Community Action Award in 2021.  The National TPAS Awards celebrate the remarkable volunteers, housing staff and contractors who bring lasting change to communities across England.

“It’s My Home”, is a 36-piece socially distanced musical extravaganza written and performed by the residents of the Stocksfield Road, Marlowe Road and Northwood Tower housing estates in the London Borough of Waltham Forest and the Project Zero E17 youth champions.

The project was commissioned by Waltham Forest Housing Engagement team with funding that was made available by Countryside, and co-funded by The Digital Story Company CIC.
