Mustafa Abdullah
Trainee Mural Artist
Mustafa Abdullah (aged 19) was selected to work on the Priory Court Mural Project as an assistant to internationally acclaimed artist INSA. Through the training he gained an IPAF certification to operate a scissor lift and assisted INSA and Wood Street Walls throughout the entire mural painting process. He also assisted the project manager in the community consultations, gaining public facing experience. As a result of the training role with The Digital Story Company Mustafa was employed by Wood Street Walls on four different mural projects and awarded a full-time contract with Wates Group.

It's mean a lot. It's mean a lot to me. I learned a lot of things, a lot of skills I didn't know about before. I'm really proud and happy with all that we did.

Ibrahim Mohamed
Trainee Producer
Ibrahim Mohamed (aged 21), a resident of Priory Court Estate was employed as a trainee producer on the Priory Court Mural Project. During the project he learned about staging and conducting public consultation, industry standard film production practices and workflow, research, voice recording, editing on Avid software and deployed his camera work to document the project. He worked alongside industry professionals and helped to produce and direct a short documentary which was screened at Clarion Futures Youth Conference 2025. His camera work was used in a promo screened to 200,000 Waltham Forest residents, and featured on the BBC. Building on his experience with the Priory Court Mural project, Ibrahim secured a prestigious bursary with Edinburgh Fringe Inside Track program.

Kellaiah Boateng
Production Assistant
Kellaiah Boateng (18) was recruited to work as production assistant on The Future You Want Project. Shadowing the project manager, she helped with recruitment, staging of workshops and assisted in the production of a video shoot and a screening event for the London Design Festival. She also wrote and performed in Freedom a collection of hip hop verses written by young residents of Priory Court.
As a result of her role in this project she was selected for a Commonwealth Youth Exchange program between the UK and Malta.

I feel like this was the one time when one of the times where our community, especially the youth of the community, were able to get together and work on something.

Kaleem Noor
Trainee Illustrator and Animator
Kaleem (19) was commissioned to co-create and illustrate avatars for the music video Where We Live with young participants from Higham Hill and Banbury Park Estate. He also presented a pop-up workshop at Walthamstow Town Hall alongside a public screening event. The project was awarded "Best Media Project" at the Incommon Age-Friendly Awards.

So this is like, my first proper, like, professional, job... think I had the most fun just looking and discussing like the character designs done by
the children.

Mahek Ali
Production Trainee
Mahek (17) helped to produce the workshops and the filming for My Generation alongside the Project Lead and cinematographer Richard Jephcote. Young residents were encouraged to devise questions for the older generation of their housing estate, and both questions and answers were filmed. Participants also learnt interviewing, lighting and camera techniques for filming interviews.

Being part of this project and working with so many experienced and incredible people was a very eye-opening experience for me. I got to learn so many new skills such as interviewing skills, how to improve my confidence and the importance of cinematography when filming.
